The Durham weather forecast calls for a bright and increasingly warm start to the week before clouds and scattered shower chances return later. Environment Canada’s updated outlook for Monday, August 3, shows mainly sunny conditions across southern Durham, with Oshawa reaching 26 C and northern communities such as Uxbridge and Port Perry reaching about 25 C.

Northwest winds may gust to 40 km/h during the day before easing in the evening. Monday night is expected to be clear, with temperatures dropping to approximately 13 C in Oshawa and 12 C in Uxbridge and Port Perry.

Sunny Conditions Continue Tuesday

Tuesday is expected to remain sunny across Durham Region. Oshawa is forecast to reach 26 C, with a humidex near 29 and a very high UV index of 8. Uxbridge and Port Perry are expected to reach 27 C, with the humidex making conditions feel closer to 30.

Residents spending time outdoors should use sunscreen, wear protective clothing and seek shade during the strongest afternoon sunshine. Environment and Climate Change Canada classifies UV index values between 8 and 10 as very high and recommends limiting prolonged exposure.

Tuesday night will remain clear and considerably cooler, with lows near 12 C in both southern and northern Durham.

Durham Weather Forecast Peaks Wednesday

Wednesday is expected to be the warmest and sunniest day in the current outlook. Environment Canada forecasts a high of 28 C for Oshawa, Uxbridge and Port Perry, with clear conditions continuing into the evening.

The forecast does not currently indicate an extreme-heat event, but residents working or exercising outdoors should stay hydrated and take breaks when needed. Children and pets should never be left inside parked vehicles, even when outdoor temperatures do not appear exceptionally high.

Wednesday night will remain clear, with temperatures falling to about 16 C. The dry conditions should provide favourable weather for outdoor work, travel and recreational activities throughout Durham Region.

Shower Chances Return Thursday

Conditions are expected to become less settled Thursday. Oshawa, Uxbridge and Port Perry are all forecast to reach approximately 27 C under cloudy skies, with a 40 per cent chance of showers during the day and evening.

A 40 per cent probability does not mean rain will fall continuously or affect every municipality. Some areas may remain dry while others receive brief showers. The current official forecast lists a chance of showers rather than confirmed thunderstorms for Durham.

Thursday night will remain mild, with lows near 19 C.

Cooler and Cloudier Friday

Friday is forecast to be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach about 25 C across the region, with overnight lows near 16 C.

The cooler conditions follow Wednesday’s 28 C high, but temperatures will remain close to early-August seasonal values. Environment Canada lists normal temperatures for the period near a daytime high of 26 C and an overnight low of 15 C.

Mixed Weekend Conditions Expected

Saturday is expected to bring a mixture of sun and cloud, along with a 30 per cent chance of showers. Oshawa, Uxbridge and Port Perry are currently forecast to reach 26 C, with overnight temperatures between 18 C and 19 C.

Sunday carries a 40 per cent chance of showers and another high near 26 C. Forecast details can change as the weekend approaches, so residents planning outdoor events should review updated local conditions and alerts closer to the date.

The latest Durham weather forecast points to sunny weather through Wednesday, a high near 28 C and increasing shower chances from Thursday into the weekend. Conditions may vary between lakeshore and northern Durham communities, making municipality-specific forecasts important before travel or outdoor plans.
