A Durham jewellery fraud case has prompted a police appeal for more possible victims after a Cambridge man surrendered on October 27.
Durham Regional Police allege the accused bought gold jewellery from sellers across Ontario through Facebook Marketplace between November 2025 and February 2026, paying with counterfeit currency. Investigators report combined losses exceeding $27,000.
Terran Miller, 23, of Cambridge, faces three counts of fraud over $5,000, four of uttering counterfeit money, one of fraud under $5,000, three of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and one of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He was released on an undertaking. Police say he also faces similar charges involving eight other Ontario police services. None of the allegations has been proven in court.
Investigators identified the account names “Slimeoo Miller”, “Ty Johnson”, “Ranny RF” and “Terran Miller Jr.” They encourage potentially affected jewellery buyers or sellers to contact their local police service.
