Durham highway closures and lane restrictions are scheduled across the region on Thursday, September 17, according to Ontario 511.
The current provincial event list includes work affecting highways 401, 407 ETR, 412, 12, 35/115 and 7A in Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Brock and Scugog.
Highway 401 restrictions across southern Durham
In Whitby, the eastbound Highway 401 on-ramp at Thickson Road is listed for a daytime full closure. Other work includes a westbound right-lane restriction between Brock Street and Highway 412.
Nightly maintenance is listed on eastbound Highway 401 between Brock Road in Pickering and Harwood Avenue in Ajax, and between Harwood Avenue and Stevenson Road in Oshawa. Westbound restrictions are also listed between Stevenson Road and Salem Road and between Salem Road and Brock Road.
Pickering drivers may encounter full overnight closures of the eastbound express lanes between Whites Road and Brock Road, as well as the westbound on-ramp and express lanes at Brock Road.
In Clarington, alternating lanes are listed between Liberty Street and Highway 35/115 in both directions. Moving overnight maintenance is also scheduled between Oshawa and Boundary Road near Port Hope.
North Durham and connecting highways
Highway 7A work continues near Port Perry between Nesbitt Line Road and Regional Road 57 South, and between Queen Street and Highway 7/12 at Manchester.
Ontario 511 also lists Highway 35 work near Pontypool, Highway 7A work near Nestleton and Bethany, Highway 12 work north of Brock, and maintenance on Highway 35/115 in Clarington.
Schedules can change because of weather, traffic or operational needs. Drivers should check Ontario 511 immediately before departure, allow extra time and follow posted signs in every work zone.
