Durham highway closures and lane restrictions are affecting provincial routes across the region on Monday, September 14, according to Ontario 511.
The current provincial event list includes work on Highway 401 through Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa and Clarington, along with restrictions on highways 7A, 35 and 115 in north and east Durham.
Highway 401 work through Durham
A nightly eastbound maintenance restriction is listed between Harwood Avenue in Ajax and Stevenson Road in Oshawa. Ontario 511 describes one alternating lane through September 16.
Westbound Highway 401 maintenance is also listed between Stevenson Road in Oshawa and Salem Road in Ajax, while another westbound restriction runs from Salem Road to Brock Road in Pickering. Drivers may encounter alternating lane closures in these work zones.
At Whites Road in Pickering, the westbound collector off-ramp is listed for a nightly full closure through September 16. A separate nightly construction entry calls for all westbound express lanes at Brock Road to close during work scheduled from September 14 through September 19.
Clarington and north Durham restrictions
In Clarington, westbound Highway 401 between Highway 35/115 and Liberty Street is listed for daily construction from September 14 through September 17, with one alternating lane.
Moving maintenance continues on Highway 401 between the Oshawa area and Boundary Road near Port Hope in both directions. Ontario 511 also lists moving lane restrictions on Highway 35/115 in Clarington through September 18.
Near Port Perry, westbound Highway 7A between Nesbitt Line Road and Regional Road 57 South is listed for daily construction from September 14 through September 18. One alternating lane is expected.
Longer-running work remains listed on northbound Highway 35 between Boundary Road and Telecom Road near Pontypool and on eastbound Highway 7A between the Highway 35 junction near Nestleton and Beers Road near Bethany.
