Durham College campus spaces at the Oshawa and Whitby campuses include study areas, fitness facilities, technical support, shops and several locations tied to student services and applied learning.
A college blog post published September 8 listed 10 spaces students should know. The list also provides practical information for family members and community visitors attending events or using public-facing campus facilities.
Both campuses have libraries with quiet areas and group study rooms. Campus stores sell textbooks, supplies and college-branded clothing, while Computer Learning Commons locations provide printing, technical help and a private tutoring room.
Fitness options differ by campus. The Oshawa Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre includes a fitness centre, dance studio and elevated indoor track. The Whitby Campus Fitness Centre provides about 2,000 square feet of cardio, strength and free-weight equipment.
Campus-specific locations
Four spaces on the list are at the Oshawa campus: the Marketplace Lounge, Campus Health and Wellness Centre, Esports Arena and DC Spa. Together they provide places to meet, access health support, participate in competitive gaming and receive services connected to college programs.
At the Whitby campus, the list highlights Pantry at the W. Galen Weston Centre for Food and an outdoor classroom beside the campus fields. Pantry offers prepared items produced by Durham College culinary staff and students, while the outdoor classroom is used for meetings and informal gatherings.
The Durham College campus spaces list is intended as an orientation resource rather than an announcement of new facilities. Hours, access rules and service availability may vary during the academic year.
