The DCDSB Fogarty Awards announcement is recognizing seven Durham Catholic secondary students who received Catholic Student Leadership Awards at an October 24 dinner in Toronto.
The Durham Catholic District School Board published the names on October 30. The award is presented by the Catholic Education Foundation of Ontario and recognizes academic achievement, Christian leadership and service to school, parish and community.
Students recognized across seven schools
The board identified the following recipients, using the abbreviated names in its public announcement:
- Nicolina S. — St. Mary Catholic Secondary School.
- Bahnam H. — Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School.
- Isabella B. — Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School.
- Nico R. — All Saints Catholic Secondary School.
- Alex K. — Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School.
- Sophia S. P. — Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School.
- Jazmine Cashmere M. — Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School.
Several of the recipients attended the Father Patrick Fogarty Awards Dinner alongside board chief executive officer Gerard Winn and DCDSB chaplains.
The DCDSB Fogarty Awards report celebrates students from across the board’s secondary-school community. The announcement does not provide individual biographies or separate project descriptions for each winner, so those details are not inferred here.
Although the dinner took place on October 24, the board’s newly published recognition is dated October 30. The public student names above retain the board’s initials rather than expanding identities beyond the source.
