Pickering residents will soon see improved road lighting as the Regional Municipality of Durham begins installing new illumination along Brock Road (Regional Road 1). The project, set to begin on February 17 and run through to June 1, will replace the existing lighting fixtures between Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) and Alexander Knox Road (Regional Road 40).
The new street lights will be installed on the west side of Brock Road, including the intersection of Brock Road and Taunton Road.
While the project is underway, there will be lane restrictions at the Brock Road and Taunton Road intersection, with intermittent lane disruptions along Brock Road. However, local traffic and emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the construction period.
The Regional Municipality of Durham assures residents that the project will be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible, while urging drivers to exercise caution for the safety of workers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
