Ajax MPP calling for review of Metrolinx’s communication protocols after derailment causes commuter chaos. Rob Cerjanec is urging Metrolinx to improve its communication with the public regarding major service disruptions after a GO train derailment near Union Station on Monday, February 4, 2026, caused major delays. Commuters in Durham, including Ajax, reported a lack of clear and consistent information about the severity of the issue and when service would resume. Cerjanec has written a letter to Ontario’s Transportation Minister, Prabmeet Sarkaria, requesting a review of Metrolinx’s communication protocols. He believes all MPPs should be informed at the same time as the public during such disruptions.
