An Ajax fire investigation is now underway after a blaze broke out at a downtown plaza early Monday morning, prompting a response from Ajax Fire Services.
Fire crews were called to the plaza at 170 Commercial Avenue, near Harwood Avenue and Hunt Street, at approximately 2 a.m. on February 2. The Ontario Fire Marshal has since taken over the Ajax fire investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
No injuries were reported, and fire crews remained on scene for several hours to ensure the area was secured. Officials have not yet released details on the extent of damage caused by the fire.
The ongoing Ajax fire investigation is being conducted in cooperation with local fire officials. Residents are advised to avoid the area while investigators continue their work.
