Police in Durham Region are continuing their search for a missing man who was last seen in Whitby, with investigators urging the public to come forward with any information that could help locate him. The case remains active, and authorities say community awareness is critical in ensuring a safe outcome.

The missing individual, identified as Tyrell, age 34, was last seen on March 4, 2026, in the area of Victoria Street West and Gordon Street in Whitby. Since that time, there has been growing concern for his well-being, prompting police to seek assistance from residents across Durham Region and beyond.

Tyrell is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a muscular build, short black hair and a goatee. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black and grey plaid pajama pants and light-coloured running shoes. Police believe he may be travelling on foot.

Investigators have indicated that Tyrell could possibly be in the Brampton area, although his exact location remains unknown. This has expanded the scope of the search beyond Durham Region, with authorities encouraging people in neighbouring communities to also remain alert.

Missing person investigations can be complex, and police emphasize that even minor details can play an important role in locating someone. Officers are actively following up on leads and continue to gather information as part of the ongoing investigation.

Durham Regional Police are asking anyone who may have seen Tyrell or who has any knowledge of his whereabouts to contact authorities immediately. Time is an important factor in missing person cases, and public cooperation can significantly improve the chances of a safe recovery.

Residents are also encouraged to share the information with others, as wider awareness increases the likelihood of sightings. Community members are reminded to stay observant, particularly in public spaces, transit areas and neighbourhoods where someone matching Tyrell’s description may be present.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham Regional Police at 905-579-1520 ext. 1805. Those who wish to remain anonymous can submit tips through Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.

Police continue to stress the importance of public involvement and encourage residents not to hesitate in reporting any relevant information. As the search continues, updates will be provided if new details become available.

The community’s support remains essential in helping bring Tyrell home safely, and authorities are hopeful that increased awareness will lead to new developments in the case.
