The Historic Port Perry Grain Elevator, a significant piece of Ontario’s agricultural heritage, will soon be restored thanks to a $500,000 federal grant. Located at the waterfront in Port Perry, the 150-year-old elevator has stood as a symbol of the community’s rich history. Led by PPGE Renovation & Revitalization Inc., the restoration project will focus on stabilizing the structure, preserving its original craftsmanship, and revitalizing the surrounding parkland. This initiative will ensure that the elevator continues to serve as a community landmark and a hub for education and public events, helping future generations appreciate the area’s heritage.
