The Region of Durham is introducing new left-turn restrictions at a busy Oshawa intersection in an effort to reduce collisions and improve road safety.
According to the Region, restrictions will be installed at the intersection of Harmony Road South (Regional Road 33) and Tennyson Avenue. The changes will prohibit:
-
The northbound left turn from Harmony Road South onto Tennyson Avenue
-
The eastbound left turn from Tennyson Avenue onto Harmony Road South
The restrictions will be in effect Monday to Friday, during peak traffic hours from 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.
The new traffic controls are scheduled to take effect in late January, the Region said.
Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes during restricted hours and follow posted signage once the changes are in place.
