The City of Oshawa is encouraging residents to celebrate close to home with Oshawa Celebrates 2026, a free, family-friendly New Year’s Eve event taking place on Wednesday, December 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Delpark Homes Centre (1661 Harmony Road North).
Designed for all ages, the evening will feature free skating and swimming, animal displays, inflatable jumping castles, and live entertainment. The celebration will conclude with a family-friendly New Year’s countdown at 9 p.m., allowing families to welcome 2026 together in a safe and festive environment.
To ensure public safety and comfort, the city has introduced capacity limits for this year’s event. Admission will be first-come, first-served, and entry may be temporarily paused if capacity is reached, reopening as space becomes available.
Wristbands for skating and swimming will be distributed starting at 5:45 p.m., subject to availability. Standard swim admission rules will apply.
Additional parking will be available at Delpark Homes Centre and Maxwell Heights Secondary School. The event is supported by Delpark Homes.
As part of the New Year’s celebrations, the Civic Recreation Centre will also host a free public swim from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering another opportunity for residents to welcome the new year in an active and fun way.
