The missing Oshawa woman at the centre of a recent public appeal has been located safely, Durham Regional Police have confirmed.
In an October 24 update on its official social media account, the service said the 51-year-old woman had been found safe and asked the public to remove her image from circulation.
The confirmation is a significant change from the original appeal for assistance. Residents who shared the missing-person notice should stop circulating it as an active search request and remove any photograph they reposted.
Search appeal no longer active
The original appeal concerned a woman last seen in Oshawa on October 22. All About Durham reported that appeal on October 23. The new police statement confirms that she has now been located; the earlier request for sightings should not be mistaken for a continuing search.
Durham Radio News has also updated its report to say she was located safe. The police update does not explain where she was found or provide further circumstances. No additional details about her whereabouts are being inferred.
