The Carriage Cup will return to downtown Oshawa on Thursday, January 21, 2027, bringing the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks and Carleton Ravens men’s hockey teams to the Tribute Communities Centre.

The fourth edition begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m., according to the venue’s official event listing. Tickets became available November 2 at 10 a.m.; Durham Post reported the ticket announcement on November 4.

Game supports Ontario Tech student-athletes

Proceeds will support Ontario Tech’s Adopt-a-Ridgeback program, which helps student-athletes across the university’s varsity teams. Organizers describe the program as a way to reduce financial pressure while athletes balance their studies and sport.

The event was developed with the Ontario Tech Student Union and takes its name from Oshawa’s carriage-building and automotive history. Organizers say previous editions have attracted more than 1,700 spectators.

Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins and athletic director Audra Sherman describe the game as an opportunity for students, alumni and the wider community to gather in support of the team. It also takes the university matchup into a larger downtown venue.

Tickets and arrival information

The venue lists adult tickets at $15, child and student tickets at $10, and a group rate of $8 for groups of at least 10. Tickets are offered online through the official event page and in person at the ticket office inside Gate 1.

Children aged 12 and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Guests aged 24 months and older need a ticket; younger infants may sit on a ticket holder’s lap under the venue’s stated conditions.

The event page also describes first-come, first-served student buses from South Village Residence, with a return trip stopping at 2200 North after the game. Students should consult the linked university information for transportation arrangements.

The Tribute Communities Centre is at 99 Athol Street East. Residents planning to attend can check the official listing for current availability and any changes to game-day arrangements.
