The Charles Street closure in downtown Oshawa will take place on Wednesday, October 21, between Bruce Street and Athol Street East, according to a City notice issued October 19.
Through traffic will be restricted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while crews carry out tree removal associated with the Tribute Communities Centre project.
Parking-lot access remains available
The City says local access to the Ontario Tech University parking lot and the Tribute Communities Centre parking lot will be maintained. That local access does not mean drivers can travel through the closed section.
Emergency vehicles will not have through access during the work. Road-closure and detour signs will be posted in accordance with provincial standards.
The notice covers a single daytime work period on October 21. Drivers heading to either parking lot should follow the posted signs and distinguish local access from the through route affected by the Charles Street closure.
The City identifies tree removal as the reason for this interruption; its notice does not announce a separate long-term shutdown.
