Durham highway closures now include revised Highway 401 work dates in Oshawa and overnight restrictions at Liverpool Road in Pickering, according to Ontario 511 listings checked on Saturday, October 17.
The updated provincial records contain material differences from the work windows reported earlier this week. They describe individual lanes, collector lanes and ramps, not a continuous shutdown of the entire highway.
Oshawa work shifts to October 18–23
Two alternating lanes on Highway 401 eastbound between Ritson Road and Harmony Road are listed for nightly construction beginning October 18 at 8 p.m. and ending October 23 at 5 a.m.
The corresponding westbound section, from Harmony Road to Ritson Road, has the same start and end dates and a two-alternating-lane restriction. These are nightly work windows, not five days of uninterrupted lane closures.
That is a changed schedule from the earlier listing, which included work ending October 17 and a separate October 19–20 period.
A separate continuous restriction will close one left lane of Highway 401 eastbound between Stevenson Road and Simcoe Street from October 22 at 9 p.m. until October 23 at 6 a.m.
Pickering collector lanes and Liverpool ramp
Ontario 511 lists nightly maintenance affecting two left lanes of the westbound collector roadway between Brock Road and Liverpool Road. The listed period begins October 17 at 11:59 p.m. and ends October 19 at 5 a.m.
The westbound on-ramp at Liverpool Road is also listed as fully closed during that nightly maintenance period. A full ramp closure should not be confused with a closure of every westbound Highway 401 lane.
One right lane of the eastbound collector roadway between Whites Road and Liverpool Road is scheduled for a continuous engineering investigation from October 22 at 11 p.m. to October 23 at 5 a.m.
Later work at the Oshawa–Whitby boundary
The provincial listing now places a nightly engineering investigation on the westbound collector lanes between Stevenson Road in Oshawa and Thickson Road in Whitby from October 26 at 10 p.m. until October 30 at 5 a.m. One left lane is affected.
Earlier coverage described an October 20–23 window for that location. The current listing therefore changes the timing drivers should use when planning travel.

These Durham highway closures are a selected account of newly changed local restrictions, not a count of every provincial project. The October 17 DurhamRegion.com roadwork report was used as a discovery source; the lane and ramp distinctions above were checked against Ontario 511 itself.
Construction schedules may change. Drivers should consult the live provincial table and follow signs and directions at each work site before entering a ramp or restricted lane.
