The Uxbridge Fall Fair returns to Elgin Park from September 11 to 13, and visitors are being reminded that backpacks will not be admitted at the entrance.
The entry rule is not new this year, but organizers are emphasizing it before the busy fair weekend. Clear stadium-style bags that allow security staff to see the contents will be accepted. Diaper bags are also permitted when the baby is present at entry.
Fairgoers are being encouraged to bring only what they need. Anyone arriving with a regular backpack should expect to be turned away from the gate or asked to leave it elsewhere before entering.
Fair opens Friday evening
The 2026 Uxbridge Fall Fair begins at 5 p.m. Friday at Elgin Park, 180 Main Street South. The fair continues through Sunday, with agricultural competitions, midway rides, entertainment and arena events scheduled across the weekend.
A major anniversary will be marked Friday night when the tractor pull celebrates its 50th year. The pull is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The demolition derby follows as a Saturday-night headline attraction, also beginning at 7 p.m.
The broader program includes cattle, sheep and horse shows, a Cruise-In car show, Highland dancing and a birds-of-prey demonstration. Superdogs, Canadian beatbox champion Scott Jackson and costumed princess performers are also among the announced attractions.
Plan before reaching the gate
Visitors should consult the official fair schedule before travelling because attraction times and operating hours vary by day. The fair website lists Saturday hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and notes that the final admission or re-entry time on Friday and Saturday night is 9:30 p.m.
Midway ride wristbands are sold separately from gate admission. Advance midway wristbands are available through the ride operator until September 10, according to the official sales page.
The Uxbridge Fall Fair backpack rule is intended to simplify visual inspection at the entrance. Clear bags and permitted diaper bags remain options, but organizers’ central advice is to arrive with as few personal items as possible.
