Durham Region parents who shop online are being urged to check their children’s toys after Health Canada announced a recall involving a spinning toy sold through SHEIN Canada.

The SHEIN toy recall involves a Spiral Spinning Toy containing small plastic balls that could pose a choking hazard to children under three years old.

Approximately 660 affected toys were sold across Canada between September 2025 and June 2026.

Consumers who have the recalled product are being told to stop using it immediately.

Which SHEIN toy is being recalled?

The recall involves the Spiral Toy, also described as a Spiral Spinning Toy.

Depending on the model, the toy includes three, five or seven coloured platforms that can be stacked together.

Several small yellow plastic balls are also included.

One version has a bear head and basket at the top, while another version includes a bull head and basket.

Consumers can also check the packaging for SKU number:

sl25013088678574868

The packaging includes the manufacturer’s information, product name, batch code, safety warnings, barcode and Made in China marking.

Small balls create choking hazard

Health Canada says the toy contains small balls despite being intended for children younger than three years old.

Small components can create a choking hazard if placed in a young child’s mouth.

For that reason, parents and caregivers should not allow children to continue playing with an affected toy even if no problem has occurred previously.

Health Canada issued the consumer product recall on Sept. 4.

As of Sept. 1, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries involving the recalled product in Canada.

About 660 toys sold in Canada

SHEIN Distribution Canada Limited sold approximately 660 affected toys nationally from September 2025 through June 2026.

The product was manufactured in China by Dongguan Angna Rubber & Plastic Products Co., Ltd.

Health Canada has not released a breakdown showing where individual units were shipped or purchased.

That means there is no confirmed figure showing how many, if any, were purchased specifically by consumers in Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Clarington or other Durham Region communities.

Because the product was sold through SHEIN Canada, local online shoppers should check toys they purchased during the affected sales period.

What should consumers do?

Consumers who have the recalled toy should stop using it immediately.

Health Canada recommends safely disposing of the product in a way that prevents it from being used again.

Affected customers can then contact SHEIN Canada to request a refund.

Consumers should not sell, redistribute or give the recalled toy to another person.

Canadian consumer product safety laws prohibit recalled products from being redistributed, sold or given away.

Parents should also make sure all pieces are kept away from young children while the toy is being removed from the home.

How to identify the recalled toy

The easiest way to determine whether a product is affected by the SHEIN toy recall is to compare its appearance and packaging information with the official recall notice.

Look for the stackable coloured platforms, small yellow balls and either the bear-head or bull-head design.

The SKU sl25013088678574868 provides another important identifier.

Anyone who believes they purchased the recalled toy should stop using it and follow Health Canada’s disposal and refund instructions rather than waiting for an incident to occur.
