The WhitBEE AI chatbot Whitby has officially launched, introducing a new digital tool designed to help residents quickly access municipal information and services.
The Town of Whitby introduced the WhitBEE AI chatbot Whitby initiative to provide residents with instant answers to questions about local government programs, services and payment options. Officials say the chatbot is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering residents greater convenience when searching for town-related information.
During initial testing, the WhitBEE AI chatbot Whitby successfully provided details on bill payment methods, swimming lesson registrations and services available at the Iroquois Sports Centre. The chatbot can also assist residents in finding permit information, municipal regulations, local events and other public services.
Town officials explained that the WhitBEE AI chatbot Whitby supports objectives outlined in Whitby’s Community Strategic Plan adopted in 2023. The plan focuses on improving customer experience through modern technology and enhancing access to municipal services.
Whitby Mayor Elizabeth Roy said the WhitBEE AI chatbot Whitby is designed to complement existing customer service channels rather than replace them. She explained that the chatbot helps residents obtain information quickly while maintaining traditional in-person and phone-based service options.
According to the Town of Whitby, the WhitBEE AI chatbot Whitby is currently in its first phase, and further upgrades are planned. Officials noted that the chatbot will continue to improve as residents and staff use it more frequently. Users can also submit feedback directly through the application to help refine its performance.
The introduction of the WhitBEE AI chatbot Whitby reflects the municipality’s ongoing efforts to adopt innovative technologies and improve communication with residents.
