Uxbridge holiday events outlined in a newly published township newsletter include the 65th annual Santa Claus Parade, a family movie outing for Ux55+ members and a two-evening Holiday Trail downtown.

The November 2 update sets out dates from late November into early December, with different locations and participation arrangements for each activity.

Santa Claus Parade on November 21

The township says its 65th annual Santa Claus Parade will take place along Brock Street on Saturday, November 21, beginning at 11 a.m.

The newsletter also says sponsorship opportunities remain available. It does not give road-closure arrangements or a complete parade route, so spectators should check the township’s parade information before planning their visit.

A family movie for Ux55+ members

The Ux55+ Active Living Centre is planning a screening of the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol at Uxbridge Music Hall, 16 Main Street South, on Friday, November 27.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. The invitation is for Ux55+ Active Living Centre members and their families, rather than an unrestricted public screening.

Free popcorn and hot chocolate are included in the announced outing. The township provides a registration link through its Ux55+ information page, but the newsletter does not state an admission price.

Holiday Trail on December 4 and 5

Discover Uxbridge and the Cindy Wood Team are organizing the downtown Holiday Trail for December 4 and 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. along Brock and Toronto streets.

The township’s update describes participating businesses, holiday pop-ups and appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus, with opportunities for photographs. It also says prizes are planned and directs residents to the organizer for further information.

The Holiday Trail is partnered with the Cindy Wood Christmas Crawl in support of the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation. The newsletter does not specify a fundraising target or prize rules.

These Uxbridge holiday events are separate activities. Residents should use the relevant municipal or organizer information to confirm registration, access and any later schedule changes.

Poppies available at Town Hall

The same newsletter says poppies are available for pickup at Town Hall ahead of Remembrance Day. It encourages residents to wear a poppy and reflect on veterans’ sacrifices.
