Durham Regional Police are searching for a lone suspect following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Bowmanville on Sunday evening.
Police said a man entered Liberty Best Variety, located on Liberty Street, at approximately 6:10 p.m. and demanded cash while pointing a firearm at an employee behind the counter. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash before officers arrived at the scene.
No injuries were reported, and police have not released a description of the suspect at this time.
Investigators are asking members of the public to review any cellphone, dash camera, or surveillance footage recorded in the area between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, which may assist in identifying the suspect or vehicle involved.
