Durham Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance following a shooting in Oshawa that left one man with serious injuries.
Police say that on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 6:05 a.m., officers from the Central East Division responded to reports of an armed person in the area of Simcoe Street North and Bond Street East. When officers arrived, they located a man on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was rushed to a Toronto-area trauma centre in life-threatening condition, though police have since confirmed his condition has been upgraded to stable.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred inside an apartment just south of where the victim was found. Surveillance footage has captured multiple individuals leaving the area shortly after the shooting, and police are working to identify those involved.
Durham police are urging business owners and residents in the area to review any surveillance, dash cam or cellphone footage that may assist the investigation.
