Pickering official results now confirm Kevin Ashe as mayor and identify the council elected in the October 26 municipal election, moving the outcome beyond the preliminary tally reported on election night.
The City of Pickering released the official summary on October 28. It reports 35,976 ballots cast among 91,259 eligible voters, for turnout of 39.42 per cent.
Mayor and ward representatives confirmed
Ashe received 13,038 votes, or 36.5 per cent of the mayoral vote, according to the City’s summary. The official announcement confirms the same mayoral winner shown in the earlier unofficial count; the new development is the municipality’s official declaration.
James Blair is the incoming Ward 1 city councillor, with 6,177 votes, or 39.8 per cent. Mara Nagy won the Ward 2 city council seat with 3,782 votes, or 31.4 per cent. Shaheen Butt won Ward 3 with 4,874 votes, or 64.4 per cent.
For regional council, Maurice Brenner was acclaimed in Ward 1. Linda Cook received 5,959 votes, or 50.2 per cent, in Ward 2, while David Pickles received 4,839 votes, or 63.2 per cent, in Ward 3.
New council term begins in November
The City says the new council term begins November 15, 2026. Its release does not give an inaugural meeting time, so residents should check the municipal meeting calendar for arrangements rather than assume the term-start date is also a meeting date.
Internet voting ran from October 19 at 10 a.m. until October 26 at 8 p.m. Paper-ballot voting was available on election day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents could use an internet-connected phone, tablet or computer to vote online, with election staff providing assistance at municipal Voter Assistance Centres.
