Pickering Highway 401 closures will expand from October 26, with Ontario 511 listing overnight restrictions on express lanes and ramps around Brock Road.

The provincial roadwork records were updated on October 21 and checked on October 22. They describe several different work areas, rather than a continuous closure of every Highway 401 lane across Pickering.

Express-lane work in both directions

The eastbound express lanes between Whites Road and Brock Road are listed for nightly construction, with all lanes in that express section closed during the scheduled work periods. The record starts at 9 p.m. October 26 and ends at 7 a.m. October 31.

A separate record lists all westbound express lanes closed near Brock Road for nightly work beginning at 7 p.m. October 26 and running through 5 a.m. October 31.

Those dates describe the overall nightly work windows. They should not be read as confirmation that the affected express lanes remain closed without interruption for the entire week.

Ramp restrictions have different end times

Ontario 511 also lists a nightly closure of the eastbound collector off-ramp at Brock Road, starting at 10 p.m. October 26 and extending through 5:30 a.m. November 1.

The westbound on-ramp at Brock Road is listed as closed nightly from 9 p.m. October 26 through 5:30 a.m. October 31.

The ramp entries are separate from the express-lane restrictions. Drivers should check the precise route and direction they intend to use rather than assume all ramps have the same hours.

Check the live record before travelling

The newly listed Pickering Highway 401 closures have different dates from the earlier overnight work and short maintenance stoppages reported elsewhere along the corridor. The current records do not provide a confirmed detour in the information checked for this report.

Construction schedules can change. Motorists should consult Ontario 511 before leaving, follow posted traffic controls and allow additional travel time around the affected work areas.
