An Oshawa truck driver impaired driving charge has been laid after a transport truck crashed into a ditch in Puslinch Township, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
OPP say officers responded to the collision on Wellington Road 34 at approximately 3:30 p.m. on January 27. The transport truck had left the roadway and ended up in a ditch. No injuries were reported.
The driver, Deep Singh, 44, of Oshawa, has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
As part of the charges, Singh received a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
Police are reminding the public to call 911 immediately if they suspect someone is driving while impaired. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The charges have not been proven in court.
