An Oshawa man charged fraudulent commercial driver tests is among eight individuals facing charges after a two-year Ontario Provincial Police investigation into compromised commercial road exams.
The investigation began in January 2024 after Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation identified irregularities in Class A commercial driver testing across the Greater Toronto Area and Kingston. The OPP Serious Fraud Office uncovered evidence that bribes were allegedly exchanged to favour certain applicants during road tests.
Vishnu Ayyamperumal Kumar, 36, of Oshawa, has been charged with secret commissions, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and breach of trust. Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
