Southern Ontario residents can expect a mix of sunshine, snow, rain, and fluctuating temperatures throughout the week, as early clear skies give way to cloudier and more unsettled conditions.
Monday (Dec. 22) will begin with sunshine before clouds move in later in the day. There is a 40 per cent chance of flurries by late afternoon. Winds may reach up to 20 km/h before easing, with daytime highs near 1°C. Morning wind chill values, however, will feel much colder, near –16°C. By evening, cloudy skies will persist, with a 40 per cent chance of snow or freezing rain after midnight. Up to 2 cm of snow is possible, with temperatures remaining around 1°C overnight.
Tuesday will be mainly cloudy, with a 60 per cent chance of snow or rain and daytime highs reaching 5°C. Cloudy conditions will continue into the night, along with windy conditions, a 30 per cent chance of flurries, and overnight lows dropping to –5°C.
Wednesday is expected to bring brighter conditions, with plenty of sunshine and a high of 2°C. Clouds will increase overnight as temperatures fall to –1°C.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with a 40 per cent chance of showers and daytime highs near 4°C. Similar conditions will continue overnight, with temperatures dipping to around 1°C.
Friday will remain cloudy with periods of rain and a high of 2°C. In the evening, skies will stay overcast with a 30 per cent chance of snow or rain, and overnight lows falling to –3°C.
Saturday will be predominantly cloudy, with a mix of snow and rain throughout the day. Temperatures will reach a high of –1°C before dropping sharply in the evening, with overnight lows expected near –5°C.
Residents are advised to stay prepared for changing conditions as winter weather continues to fluctuate across the region.
