Lake Ridge Road lane restrictions are scheduled to begin October 26 along the Ajax–Whitby corridor while crews resurface a section of the regional road.
Durham Region’s October 23 notice says the work is expected to continue until November 30. Unfavourable weather may affect the schedule.
Section between Dundas and Rossland affected
The limits run from 250 metres north of Dundas Street East, also known as Durham Regional Highway 2, to 200 metres south of Rossland Road, or Regional Road 28.
The regional notice identifies both Ajax and Whitby as affected municipalities. It describes lane restrictions for resurfacing rather than a full closure of the entire corridor.
Drivers are asked to use caution around pedestrians, cyclists and work crews. The Region says it will make efforts to complete the work efficiently while recognizing the disruption for road users.
Check current traffic conditions
The Region directs travellers to its TrafficWatch service for an interactive map and traffic information. The announcement does not provide a daily lane-closure timetable or specify which lane will be restricted at every stage.
These Lake Ridge Road lane restrictions are separate from the longer reconstruction project in Brock and Uxbridge farther north. They are also distinct from Ajax’s Rossland Road asphalt-recycling pilot: this notice concerns the Lake Ridge Road segment north of Dundas and south of Rossland.
