A major investigation by Durham police has resulted in arrests and the seizure of weapons and drugs, following what officials describe as a significant operation targeting illegal activity in the region. The Durham police guns drugs arrest operation involved multiple units and search warrants across several cities.

According to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), the investigation was led by the Gun and Gang Unit and concluded on April 30, 2026. With support from the Tactical Support Unit and the Drug Enforcement Unit, officers executed search warrants at three residences in Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa.

As a result of the Durham police guns drugs arrest, officers seized several dangerous items, including a loaded Glock handgun, a prohibited extended magazine, and a sawed-off rifle. In addition to the firearms, police also recovered cash and illegal drugs, indicating suspected trafficking activity.

Three individuals were taken into custody in connection with the investigation. Police confirmed that those arrested include a 19-year-old male from Ajax and two 17-year-old males from Whitby. All three were held for a bail hearing following their arrest.

Authorities noted that at the time of the Durham police guns drugs arrest, one of the 17-year-old suspects was already subject to curfew conditions, raising further concerns about compliance with court-ordered restrictions.

Due to legal protections surrounding youth offenders, police have not released the names of the individuals involved. Officials also emphasized that charges have been laid, but the accused have not yet been convicted in court.

The Durham police guns drugs arrest highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address gun violence and drug-related crime across the region. The involvement of multiple specialized units reflects the seriousness of the investigation and the coordinated approach taken by DRPS.

Police are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Members of the public can contact the Gun and Gang Unit or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.

Incidents like the Durham police guns drugs arrest demonstrate the continued focus on reducing illegal firearms and drug trafficking in local communities. Authorities say proactive enforcement and community cooperation remain key to maintaining public safety.
