Durham Regional Crime Stoppers is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at Pickering Casino Resort.
Police say 34-year-old Michael Ferdinand was shot and killed while working as a security guard at the casino on October 9, 2023, at approximately 5:05 a.m.
The suspect, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, is now the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder. Due to the suspect’s age at the time of the offence, a publication ban remains in effect, preventing the release of their identity.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the Pickering Casino Resort murder suspect’s whereabouts or who may have had contact with them to come forward.
Tips can be submitted anonymously through Durham Regional Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online. The $25,000 reward will remain available until November 26.
