A Clarington reckless driving investigation led to impaired driving charges for a 30-year-old Pickering man on January 26, 2026. Durham police responded to reports of a vehicle “doing donuts and driving dangerously” near Milligan Street and Port of Newcastle Drive around 3:30 p.m. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled the scene.
Officers engaged in a brief pursuit but called off the chase due to the suspect’s dangerous driving. The vehicle was later found off the road in a ditch, and the driver surrendered without incident.
The Clarington reckless driving suspect now faces multiple charges, including impaired operation of a conveyance, dangerous driving, refusal of a blood demand, and failure to stop for police. Additionally, he is charged with driving while suspended, driving with cannabis readily available, and driving with open liquor in the vehicle.
