A Brock Township man has been charged after a marked Durham Regional Police cruiser was damaged outside the Beaverton Arena.
Police said the Brock police cruiser incident happened at about 11:21 p.m. Saturday, September 12, near the arena at 176 Main Street.
Windshield wipers damaged
According to investigators, a man approached the marked cruiser, urinated on the driver’s-side door and damaged both windshield wipers before leaving the area.
Durham police issued a Help Solve a Crime appeal after the incident. The service said information from the public helped officers identify a suspect.
The suspect was taken into custody in Scugog Township on Wednesday, September 16. A 29-year-old Brock Township man is charged with mischief causing property damage under $5,000.
He was released on an undertaking. The allegation has not been proven in court.

The arrest is a material development from the earlier appeal seeking help to identify the person involved. Police have not announced any additional charges or provided a repair estimate for the cruiser.
