A popular all-you-can-eat Indian restaurant chain has opened a new location in Oshawa, bringing a wide selection of authentic Indian dishes to diners across Durham Region.
India’s Taste, a restaurant brand that began more than 24 years ago in Brampton, has expanded across the Greater Toronto Area with several locations in cities such as Mississauga and Markham. The newest restaurant opened on February 26 at 2620 Simcoe Street North, Unit 7 & 8 in Oshawa, introducing its well-known buffet-style dining experience to the local community.
The restaurant offers a large menu featuring traditional Indian cuisine, tandoori dishes, curries, biryani and street-food favourites. Guests can choose from a variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian options, all prepared with traditional spices and cooking methods.
Among the popular dishes available at the new Oshawa location is Kali Mirch Chicken Tawa, which features boneless chicken cooked in a rich black-pepper spiced onion and tomato gravy. Another favourite is Chicken Seekh Tawa, made from grilled minced chicken skewers blended with herbs and spices.
For diners who enjoy red meat dishes, the menu also includes Lamb Tawa, made with tender lamb cooked with traditional Indian spices, as well as Goat Curry, a slow-cooked dish simmered in aromatic gravy.
Seafood lovers can try items such as Fish Tikka, which typically includes marinated salmon or basa grilled in a traditional tandoor clay oven, giving the fish a smoky flavour and tender texture.
Vegetarian dishes are also widely available. Options include Paneer Tawa, which features Indian cottage cheese cooked in a spiced onion and tomato sauce, and Mix Veg Tawa, a combination of vegetables cooked with traditional Indian spices.
In addition to the buffet options, guests can enjoy popular Indian street-food snacks, including Pani Puri, which consists of crispy hollow shells filled with spiced potatoes and tangy flavoured water. Another favourite is Samosa Chaat, a dish made with fried pastries filled with potatoes and topped with yogurt and chutneys.
Other street-food items include Bhel Puri, a crunchy snack made with puffed rice, vegetables and chutneys mixed with traditional spices.
To complete the dining experience, the restaurant also offers classic Indian desserts. Popular sweets include Gulab Jamun, deep-fried milk dumplings soaked in sugar syrup, and Ras Malai, soft cheese dumplings served in sweetened milk.
The arrival of India’s Taste adds another dining option to Oshawa’s growing restaurant scene and provides residents with a buffet-style experience featuring authentic Indian flavours.
