Four Durham Region residents face drug- and firearm-related charges following an investigation that included arrests in Ajax and the search of a residence in Pickering.
Durham Regional Police said the Ajax Pickering drug seizure investigation concluded on Friday, July 17, 2026. Investigators with the Guns and Gangs Unit had been examining allegations that a man possessed a firearm and was involved in drug trafficking.
Ajax Arrests Lead to Pickering Search
Police said investigators located the male suspect and a woman inside a vehicle in Ajax. Both were arrested without incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly resulted in the discovery of more than three kilograms of suspected fentanyl. Police have not released an estimated street value for the substance or provided further information about how it was packaged.
Investigators, assisted by the Durham police Drug Enforcement Unit, later executed a search warrant at a residence in Pickering. A second woman was found inside and was also taken into custody without incident.
Police allege that officers located a loaded firearm equipped with a prohibited overcapacity magazine. A replica Uzi-style firearm was also allegedly seized from the residence. Investigators said the loaded firearm was confirmed to have been stolen from the state of Georgia in the United States.
A fourth suspect who remained outstanding after the searches turned himself in to police on Sunday, July 19.
Four Durham Residents Face Charges
Police identified the four accused as Jaelin Jared Gamble, 25, of Pickering; Natasha Marie Rotta, 32, of Ajax; Allyson Mae Adams, 27, of Pickering; and Isaiah Derrick Adams, 25, of Pickering.
Gamble and Rotta are each charged with possession of a Schedule I substance—fentanyl—for the purpose of trafficking.
Allyson Adams and Isaiah Adams are each charged with possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a prohibited device.
Police said all four accused were held for bail hearings. The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court. Each accused person is presumed innocent unless found guilty through the court process.
The official release does not state whether investigators believe the suspected fentanyl and firearms were connected to a broader distribution network. Police have also not disclosed how long the investigation was active, where the vehicle was stopped in Ajax or the address of the Pickering residence.
