Creative residents in Durham Region will have the opportunity to explore the art of needle felting during a hands-on Needle Felting Lil Fridge Magnets Workshop taking place in Uxbridge on March 8, 2026.

The workshop will run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bounty from the Boonies Storefront, located at 18 Brock Street West in Uxbridge, offering participants a cozy and creative afternoon of crafting.

The two-hour workshop is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of needle felting, a popular fiber art technique that uses special barbed needles to shape wool into decorative designs.

During the session, attendees will create their own mini plant fridge magnets, handcrafted decorative pieces that can be used to personalize refrigerators, workspaces, or magnetic boards.

Organizers say the workshop is suitable for beginners as well as experienced crafters, and no prior needle felting experience is required.

Participants will receive gentle step-by-step instruction throughout the session while working on their handmade creations. The class is structured to allow individuals to work at a comfortable pace while exploring their creativity.

All materials needed for the workshop will be provided, allowing participants to focus entirely on the crafting experience.

Most attendees are expected to complete two to three unique mini plant magnets during the session, depending on their pace and design choices.

The workshop is designed to create a relaxed and welcoming environment where participants can enjoy a creative break while learning a new skill.

In addition to crafting, guests will also receive a beverage during the workshop, helping create a comfortable atmosphere for the small-group event.

Another highlight of the experience includes private shopping access during the workshop, where participants will receive 10 percent off selected items in the store.

The Needle Felting Lil Fridge Magnets Workshop in Uxbridge is part of a growing trend of hands-on creative workshops that encourage community members to explore crafts, art, and DIY projects.

Events like this provide residents with opportunities to connect with others, learn new artistic techniques, and enjoy relaxing creative activities within the local community.

Uxbridge has become known for its strong arts and culture scene in Durham Region, with many small businesses and artists hosting workshops and events that celebrate creativity.

Tickets for the workshop are $40, and spaces are limited due to the small class size, which ensures participants receive personalized guidance during the session.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve their spot early to secure a place in the workshop.
