The March 4 weather foggy conditions possible in Southern Ontario forecast indicates a mix of sunshine and fog patches across the Greater Toronto Area and parts of southern Ontario, according to Environment Canada.

Residents in several cities including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa, Pickering, and Niagara Falls could see fog developing during the early morning hours before skies gradually clear. Environment Canada reports that Wednesday morning will begin mostly sunny but with fog patches lingering in some areas.

Temperatures across southern Ontario are expected to reach a daytime high of around 5 degrees Celsius, bringing slightly milder conditions compared to the colder temperatures experienced earlier in the week. However, despite the warmer daytime temperatures, wind chill values in the morning could make it feel significantly colder.

In Mississauga, the temperature is forecast to reach around 5 C, though morning wind chill values could make it feel closer to -6 C early in the day. Winds are expected to remain relatively light, blowing at approximately 15 kilometres per hour through the afternoon.

Weather officials are reminding residents to remain cautious during periods of fog, particularly during the early morning commute. Fog can significantly reduce visibility on roadways, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions. Drivers are advised to slow down, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and use proper headlights when travelling through foggy areas.

The weather conditions could also be influenced by recent snowmelt across parts of southern Ontario. As temperatures rise, melting snow combined with foggy conditions may lead to damp roads and reduced traction in some areas.

Environment Canada notes that skies are expected to clear later in the evening across much of the Greater Toronto Area. Wednesday night should bring mainly clear conditions before becoming partly cloudy around midnight.

Overnight temperatures are forecast to drop to approximately -1 C, bringing cooler conditions once again during the late evening and early morning hours.

Looking ahead to Thursday, the weather outlook suggests that southern Ontario could see a change in conditions as cloud cover increases throughout the day. Environment Canada predicts a 40 percent chance of rain for Thursday, with daytime temperatures once again reaching around 5 C in parts of the GTA.

In addition, forecasters say a more significant rainfall system could move through the region later Thursday. Some areas stretching from Toronto south toward Windsor, including Hamilton and the Niagara Region, could receive up to 30 millimetres of rainfall.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates as conditions develop, particularly if travelling or planning outdoor activities.
