A joint police investigation involving Durham Regional Police has led to one of the largest drug seizures of the year, with more than 100 kilograms of cocaine taken off the streets and six people charged.
York Regional Police began investigating an organized cocaine trafficking network in October 2025, with support from multiple agencies, including Durham police, the OPP, Toronto Police, Barrie Police, South Simcoe Police, and Correctional Service Canada.
Between October and December, officers executed nine search warrants at four residences and five storage lockers located in Toronto, Vaughan, Barrie, Espanola and Innisfil. An additional warrant was carried out at the Beaver Creek Institution in Gravenhurst.
As a result of the coordinated enforcement action, police seized:
- 102 kilograms of cocaine
- One loaded firearm
- More than $135,000 in cash

The following individuals are facing serious drug- and firearm-related charges:
- Sherrie Donovan (40), Espanola
- William Donovan (29), Toronto
- Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to traffic cocaine
- Kevin Forde (36), Barrie
- Solange Khan (35), Barrie
- Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, multiple firearm and prohibited device offences, careless storage of a firearm, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000
- Khan is also charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine
- Doniele Elie (33), no fixed address
- Charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine
- John Novak (67), Espanola
- Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
Police say the investigation highlights the importance of inter-agency cooperation, including assistance from Durham police, in disrupting large-scale drug trafficking networks operating across Ontario.
