The Ontario Fire Marshal will be conducting an investigation following a residential fire in Ajax that left an adult male seriously injured.
Durham Regional Police say officers from West Division were called to a house fire on Angier Crescent on Thursday, December 11, at approximately 6:10 a.m. When police arrived, they observed smoke coming from the residence. Ajax Fire crews were already on scene and extinguished the fire.
An adult male was found injured and was transported to a local hospital, where police say he remains in serious condition.
Investigators noted the home has been deemed unsafe, preventing a full search of the property at this time. Police said a thorough search will be completed once the premise is declared safe.
