A new police appeal in an Oshawa wallet theft and fraud investigation asks residents to help identify a suspect linked to purchases and a cash withdrawal after a victim’s wallet was stolen.
Durham Regional Police published the appeal on November 6, 2026. The theft itself occurred on Thursday, April 30, 2026; the release is not reporting a theft that happened this week.
Bank cards used after the theft
Police say the victim’s bank cards were used for purchases totalling more than $7,600. Investigators also report a separate $1,000 withdrawal from an ATM using the debit card.
The police notice does not identify the victim, name the businesses where purchases were made or provide a specific street address for the theft. It does not announce charges or an arrest.

The suspect is described by police as a male approximately 30 to 40 years old, about five feet eight inches tall, with a medium build, dark goatee and moustache.
