Pickering winter concerts will bring eight Durham Region acts to the Dorsay Community & Heritage Centre over four Thursday evenings in November and December.

The City of Pickering’s new series runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on November 5 and 19 and December 3 and 17. DurhamRegion.com reports that admission is free. The City’s official programme confirms the dates, venue and performer lineup.

Two local acts on each date

The November 5 opening concert features the Brian Wride Trio from Uxbridge, listed under folk and country, alongside Pickering reggae and pop group IMPAK.

On November 19, Pickering’s Robbie Wighton will bring rock and country, while Ajax’s The Jackson Fox Band is listed for country music.

The December 3 programme pairs Bowmanville’s Wayne Ricard, performing country and rock, with Ajax’s Kim & Company Band, whose programme category is rock and music across the decades.

Ajax’s Two for the Show and Newcastle’s Swing Shift ‘Little’ Big Band are scheduled for December 17. The City lists rock and country for Two for the Show and decades and rock for Swing Shift.

Community-centre setting

The Dorsay Community & Heritage Centre is at 2365 Sixth Concession Road in Pickering. Residents should consult the official concert page before travelling for any programme changes or updated attendance information.

The City notes that designated photographers and videographers may record the concerts for future municipal education and promotional use. The announcement does not describe reserved seating or a ticket-booking requirement, and this report does not assume one.

The Pickering winter concerts are a new seasonal series, not a report that the performances have already taken place. Each evening features performers from Durham communities, giving audiences an opportunity to hear local music in the new centre.
