A Scugog pedestrian collision prompted the closure of Simcoe Street between Scugog Line 8 and Riverview Drive on Thursday morning, October 29.
Durham Regional Police confirmed the road closure in a public advisory and asked people to avoid the area. Separate reports from Durham Radio News and DurhamRegion.com, both citing police, place the collision near Simcoe Street and Country Estates Drive at about 5:10 a.m.
Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures
DurhamRegion.com reported that a pedestrian struck by a van was found without vital signs and that emergency services began life-saving measures. That report did not identify the pedestrian.
Durham Radio News reports that the man later died of his injuries. It also reports that the driver remained at the scene and called 911.
The death and the circumstances described above are attributed to the newsrooms’ police reporting. The official public post checked for this article confirms the closure but does not itself provide medical details.
No reopening time provided

This Scugog pedestrian collision is a separate October 29 event near Port Perry, not the Highway 12 multi-vehicle crash in Brock earlier this week.
