Scugog certified results now confirm Ian McDougall as mayor following the October 26 municipal election. The township published the certification on October 28, replacing the unofficial status of the tally previously reported.

The certified mayoral total gives McDougall 3,326 votes. Mike Coll received 1,971, Wilma Wotten 1,673, Jack Doak 1,044, David Whitfield 369 and Charles Deane 67.

Regional and ward seats confirmed

Patricia Conlin won the regional councillor race with 2,515 votes. Allan Honey received 2,304, Terry Coyne 2,191 and Richard Park 1,107.

David Le Roy won Ward 1 with 1,158 votes against Scott Blachar’s 294. Alisa Cole won Ward 2 with 1,294 against Richard Hinton’s 349.

In Ward 3, Rosario Greco received 383 votes, ahead of Sean Taylor’s 356 and Don Kett’s 172. The certified margin between Greco and Taylor is 27 votes.

Brad Martyn won Ward 4 with 1,192 votes, compared with Harold Wright’s 568. Janna Guido won Ward 5 with 1,231, followed by Stephen Kotyck with 828 and Marion Meyers with 427.

School board results

The Scugog certified results also give the combined totals for the two Durham District School Board trustee positions representing Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge. Dave Brown received 8,412 votes and Paul Breeze 6,944, winning the two seats. James Bountrogiannis received 5,510 and Netalia Duboisky 3,841.

Richard Damianopoulos was acclaimed to the Durham Catholic District School Board. Erik Lapointe was acclaimed to Conseil scolaire Viamonde, and Marcellin Kwilu Mondo to Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir.

Certification is the new development

The township’s clerk certified the totals on October 28 and declared the elected candidates under section 55(4) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, according to the published declaration.

The winners and vote totals do not represent a reversal of the earlier tally. The material change is their certified status. All About Durham’s initial article explicitly described the results as unofficial.

The current results webpage also contains tables from older elections farther down the page. This report uses only the township’s 2026 certified table, not the historical figures.
