Clarington official results confirm Tom Dingwall as mayor and the six councillors who will represent the municipality during the 2026–2030 term.
The Municipal Clerk certified the October 26 election results on Tuesday, October 27, according to Clarington’s announcement. The certification moves the outcome beyond the unofficial tally previously reported on election night.
Seven-member council confirmed
Granville Anderson has been elected regional councillor for Wards 1 and 2. Willie Woo is the regional councillor for Wards 3 and 4.
The four local councillors are Joe Neal in Ward 1, Kathleen Flynn in Ward 2, Corinna Traill in Ward 3 and Denise Robinson in Ward 4. Dingwall will serve as mayor.
The municipality says the new council will be sworn in at its inaugural meeting on Monday, November 23, 2026. The announcement does not provide a meeting time.
Turnout rose from the previous election
Clarington reported 29,520 participants out of 86,879 eligible voters, a turnout of 34 per cent. That compares with 28 per cent in the 2022 municipal election.
Of those who voted, 95.7 per cent used an online device and 4.3 per cent used the telephone. This was Clarington’s second municipal election conducted using internet and telephone voting.
The Clarington official results page provides access to the full results and a voter turnout report. Residents seeking school-board outcomes or detailed vote totals should use those municipal records.
This follow-up reports the newly certified outcome and inauguration arrangements. The earlier All About Durham election-night article described an unofficial count; this release supplies the final-status development rather than a second account of the same preliminary result.
