An Audley Road closure will change access to the Audley Recreation Centre during an event at the Ajax Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 26.
The Town of Ajax says Audley Road will close to northbound traffic from Rossland Road to Williamson Drive beginning at noon. The traffic measure is intended to help manage parking congestion around the recreation centre and fairgrounds.
Recreation centre access changes
People travelling to the Audley Recreation Centre should approach from Taunton Road, travel south on Audley Road and enter from Williamson Drive. Ajax says the restriction will affect all drop-in and registered programs scheduled between noon and 9 p.m.
The notice describes a northbound closure rather than a complete shutdown of Audley Road. Drivers should follow posted signs and allow additional time, particularly when arriving for recreation programs during the affected period.
Temporary parking restrictions planned
The town will also place temporary no-parking signs on one side of specified streets in the nearby neighbourhood. Standard three-hour on-street limits and other parking rules will remain in force where temporary signs are not posted.
Ajax has not identified the precise time when the road restriction will be removed beyond saying programs from noon to 9 p.m. will be affected. Residents should check town updates and on-street signs before travelling.
The Audley Road closure is a temporary traffic plan associated with the September 26 fairgrounds event. It is separate from longer-term construction closures elsewhere in Ajax.
