Forward Harrison Franssen has been named the 73rd Oshawa Generals captain in franchise history for the 2026-27 OHL season.
Franssen wore an assistant captain’s letter last season and succeeds Ben Danford.
Franssen enters fourth season
The Generals selected Franssen 171st overall in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. The 20-year-old has 30 goals and 25 assists through 129 career games with Oshawa.
He recorded career highs of 24 goals and 42 points in 64 games last season and was voted the Eastern Conference’s most underrated player by OHL coaches.
Franssen attended Ottawa Senators prospect camp and has committed to play NCAA hockey at the University of Massachusetts Lowell next year.
Assistants named
Oshawa named forward Brooks Rogowski and defenceman Brady Murnane as assistants. The Generals’ home opener is Sunday, September 20, at 6:05 p.m. against North Bay.
