A Whitby boy found safe after a public appeal is no longer missing, Durham Regional Police said Friday morning.
Police reported that Michael, 13, had been located “safe and sound.” The update followed an appeal asking residents to help find the boy after he was last seen at about 2 p.m. Thursday, September 17, near McQuay Boulevard and Rossland Road West in Whitby.

The force thanked residents for their assistance and asked people to remove the child’s image from circulation. Removing photos after a missing person is found helps restore privacy and prevents an outdated appeal from continuing to spread.
