Clarington Civic Holiday Closures and Recreation Hours for Monday

Clarington Civic Holiday closures will affect municipal offices, libraries, recreation facilities and other public services on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Most municipal buildings will close for the holiday, but residents will still be able to visit Courtice Community Complex and Orono Park Pool during reduced operating hours.

Municipal recreation centres will remain open for their regularly scheduled programs on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2.

Recreation Facilities Open Monday

Courtice Community Complex will open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Civic Holiday Monday.

The facility is located at 2950 Courtice Road North. Available programs and amenities may follow a modified holiday schedule, so visitors should confirm specific activities before attending.

Orono Park Pool will also be open from noon to 5 p.m.

The outdoor pool is located at 61 Princess Street in Orono and provides residents with an option to cool off during the holiday.

Weather, staffing or operational issues may affect outdoor-pool schedules. Swimmers should check the municipality’s website for any last-minute changes.

Clarington Civic Holiday Closures

The following municipal buildings and facilities will be closed on August 3:

  • Municipal Administrative Centre
  • Clarington Animal Shelter
  • Hampton Operations Depot
  • Clarington Library, Museums and Archives branches
  • Municipal recreation facilities other than Courtice Community Complex and Orono Park Pool

Regular municipal programs scheduled at closed facilities will not operate Monday.

Most offices and facilities are expected to return to their regular schedules on Tuesday, August 4.

Emergency Services Remain Available

Although most municipal buildings will be closed, Clarington says municipal law-enforcement officers and public-works employees will remain on duty.

Staff will monitor urgent service requests and respond to complaints requiring immediate attention.

Residents dealing with an after-hours municipal emergency can call 905-433-1234.

Emergency situations involving an immediate threat to a person or property should be reported by calling 911.

Residents should check Clarington’s official website before travelling because holiday operating hours and scheduled programs may change.
