A watermain break has forced the emergency closure of part of Sandringham Drive in Courtice, disrupting traffic through a residential area of Clarington.
The Courtice watermain break has closed Sandringham Drive between Stirling Avenue and Strathallan Drive until further notice. The Municipality of Clarington is asking drivers to avoid the area and use alternate local routes while crews respond and repairs are completed.
The rupture was reported shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 21. Water spread across the roadway before emergency crews were able to shut down the affected line. The full extent of damage to the road and nearby property had not been publicly confirmed.
