Durham Regional Police are searching for multiple suspects following a violent Ajax home invasion that took place in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

According to a press release from Durham Regional Police, officers responded to a break-and-enter call at approximately 5 a.m. at a residence in the area of Boyd Crescent and Littler Lane in Ajax. The neighbourhood, a quiet residential area in the eastern Greater Toronto Area, was the scene of a brazen attack that has raised safety concerns among local residents.

Police say that prior to their arrival, at least three individuals forced their way into the home and assaulted the tenants inside during the Ajax home invasion. The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle before officers reached the scene. The incident occurred during the early morning hours when most residents were still asleep, adding to the shock felt by the community.

No further details have been released regarding the specific nature of the injuries sustained by the victims. It remains unclear whether the tenants required hospitalization or were treated at the scene by paramedics. Police have also not disclosed the make, model, or description of the getaway vehicle used by the suspects to flee the area after the assault.

The investigation is being led by Durham Regional Police, who are actively working to identify and locate the suspects. Investigators have been canvassing the neighbourhood around Boyd Crescent and Littler Lane, speaking with residents and reviewing any available surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses in the area.

Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Boyd Crescent and Littler Lane in Ajax between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. on April 29 to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining surveillance footage, dash camera recordings, or any other information that could help identify the suspects or the vehicle involved in the Ajax home invasion.

Home invasions have been a growing concern across Durham Region in recent months, with several incidents reported in communities including Pickering, Oshawa, and Whitby. Police have repeatedly urged residents to take proactive steps to secure their homes, including installing security cameras, ensuring doors and windows are locked at all times, and using motion-sensor lighting to deter potential intruders during nighttime hours.

The Ajax community where the incident took place is a family-oriented residential area where violent crime is relatively uncommon. Neighbours have expressed alarm at the nature of the attack, particularly given that it occurred during the early morning hours when residents would least expect such a violent incident to unfold in their neighbourhood.

Anyone with information about this Ajax home invasion is urged to contact Durham Regional Police directly. Those who wish to remain anonymous can submit tips through Crime Stoppers, where a cash reward may be available for information leading to an arrest. Tips can be submitted online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.

Police have not yet released suspect descriptions or additional details about the items that may have been stolen during the incident. Investigators say the investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as new information becomes available to the public.
